Objective

The aim was to design a visually cohesive and emotionally resonant short film that tested the creative limits of emerging AI tools, explored hybrid animation techniques and refined a workflow that could later be applied to real world brand and content projects.

Echo of Light was an experimental concept film created inside the Weavy workflow platform. Inspired by a visit to teamLab Planets in Tokyo, the project became a vehicle to test the capabilities of Seedream 4.0 and Kling 2.1 in producing consistent visual storytelling.

Creative exploration.

The project began with a desire to translate the immersive, reflective world of teamLab Planets into a story constructed entirely through AI. I used Seedream 4.0 to explore light based environments and character forms, while Kling 2.1 enabled precise control through first frame and last frame inputs. This combination allowed me to test how far AI could be pushed in delivering continuity across scenes, style and tone.

To reinforce an anime inspired aesthetic, I crafted each sequence with a focus on visual rhythm and emotional pacing. The Posterize Time function in Premiere Pro reduced the footage to twelve frames per second to achieve a more authentic hand animated feel. This workflow allowed me to blend photorealistic detail with stylised motion, creating a hybrid visual language that felt both contemporary and rooted in traditional animation craft.

Workflow refinement.

Echo of Light served as a practical testing ground for shaping a robust AI production pipeline. Working within Weavy, I built a repeatable node based structure that enabled experimentation with prompts, shot sequences and asset generation. This process revealed strengths and limitations across the tools and clarified how each platform could best contribute to future creative production.

By treating the film as a research artefact as much as a creative piece, I was able to fine tune a multi platform workflow incorporating image generation, video generation, motion graphics, SFX and audio. The project sharpened my understanding of where AI accelerates production and where manual craft still adds essential nuance, ultimately strengthening my approach to real world creative problem solving.
